Coastal Clean Up A Success in Seal Beach

Seal Beach’s own “Save Our Beach” group cleaned up…literally last Saturday.

All told almost 150,000 pounds of trash was picked up by thousands of volunteers on Coastal Clean Up Day.  This is not just the trash on the beach but also the trash on the riverbeds…which was on the way to the beach when it got “delayed.”

“Save Our Beach” is a local Seal Beach group and they have been instrumental in getting locals out on the annual clean-up day. People come from far inland to help and even though there is more junk every year there are more Californians willing to be presses into service to protect our environment.  Over 1500 people were present at three local sites on Saturday.

Now, if only we could get the polluters to stop the dumping we could all take the day for some other worthy cause.
